What happened to the Polls category?

While the Polls category has gone away, poll questions themselves haven't. We thought about it for a long time and realized there are two kinds of poll questions: useful ones that share great information, and other poll questions that are asked out of boredom or with no particular reason. We thought some more about it, and realized that useful poll questions always seem to fit into other, more specific categories, leaving the less useful questions to languish in the Polls category.

We released a survey in January to thousands of Community members, and the data provided a lot of useful insights. One of them was the need to focus a lot more on keeping with our stated mission of helping connect people with really useful information. So with the support of a vast majority of the Community, we removed the Polls category and continue to keep the useful poll questions in relevant categories.
